The Problem
Bonotel needed a web platform that could support its travel and hospitality business with a more capable content and search experience.
The solution crossed several concerns: content management, application APIs, MongoDB data architecture, location and property search, identity, and a reliable AWS runtime.
Why It Mattered
The platform required an architecture that connected the visitor experience to content, search, and backend services. The engagement needed technical decisions translated into patterns the delivery team could implement and operate.
What Ken Did

Designed the AWS web-platform architecture. Defined the cloud infrastructure and application patterns for a scalable travel and hospitality website.

Connected content and application data. Architected CMS-based content management, MongoDB data structures, and REST API patterns for the platform.

Added richer search and location capabilities. Designed advanced search using Solr/Lucene and Google Places API integration.

Established identity and delivery patterns. Addressed SSO and authentication and established CI/CD workflows; guided implementation through design reviews and architecture decisions.
